The Client:
The Holladay House is a six-room, historic bed and breakfast located within the Piedmont Valley in Orange, Virginia. The inn is recognized for it's three-course, farm-to-table breakfasts, helping couples elope and have intimate celebrations, and for weekend getaways with antique shopping, gourmet dining, and beer/wine tasting.
The Approach:
The Holladay House was not taking advantage of content marketing; therefore, brand awareness and bookings were lacking within a competitive marketplace. To solve the problem, a content marketing strategy was created to improve the online presence of the inn and help increase bookings during non-peak seasons.
An editorial calendar consisting of blog posts, social media, and Pinterest content was created for six-months. This included owned and shared media and did not rely on paid ads or placements.
The Results:
The content marketing campaign provided consistent and compelling social media content that led to a 300% increase of referrals to the inn's website and booking pages from Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Despite mandatory closures and travel restrictions due to COVID-19 during the campaign, non-peak bookings increased by 12% during the six-month campaign.
*This campaign won the 2020 Blue Ridge PRSA Gold Summit award in the category Marketing Products or Services (for profit)
